We'd like to share this message from one of our volunteers who also volunteers at the Worthing Foodbank...

I volunteer with the Worthing Food Bank and Barbara and I were out yesterday delivering bags of food to people in Worthing. Unfortunately the demand for food has gone up since the lock down and the normal method of obtaining food (monthly events at supermarkets where volunteers collect donations of food from customers) has had to stop as the foodbank didn't want its volunteers coming into close contact with a large number of people.
In February this year I was volunteering at the foodbank warehouse and it looked like there was enough food to last at least a year. The warehouse is now empty. and all the food is being purchased from wholesalers utilising reserve funds. This is obviously unsustainable in the long term without additional funds.
If anyone wanted to make a donation, either food or money, details of how to do this are on the link below.

All the best NickWorthing Foodbank and Worthing Borough Council are working together to provide food parcels to people in crisis. There are several ways you can help us! Any food donations can be taken to Worthing Town Hall on weekday mornings. If you are able to donate financially, please go to worthingfoodbank.co.uk. If you are fit and able and would like to volunteer to help with packing food and deliveries, please go to worthingfoodbank.co.uk and fill in the form at the bottom of the page. #worthing #worthingfoodbank #worthingboroughcouncil
